Dark Skies: This is an International Dark Skies Park. The skies here are special: the Elan Valley and it's surrounding area is one of only 2 destinations in the UK (6 in the world) with international dark sky park status. On a dark, clear night you can see over a 1,000 stars stretching across the sky. To lessen light pollution and give you a better view of the stars we do not have "street" lighting around the park: please remember to bring a torch.
